Church History

In May of 1999, Missionary Clinton Keaton and his wife Dorothy planted Lighthouse Baptist Church in their home in Payette Idaho. He was a missionary out of Bible Baptist Church in Mountain Home, Idaho.  The services were held for nearly 2 years in their living room. 

 

In early 2001 a small store-front building was rented in Fruitland Idaho and services were held there for 2 years.  

 

Early in 2003, a 3-bedroom house on 1.3 acres in Ontario, Oregon, was purchased and services began being held there. The first business meeting was held in late February of 2003 and they voted to organize the church, Pastor Keaton was voted in as their first pastor and in April, 19 members signed the charter.

 

On May 4, 2003, Pastor Keaton resigned, and Pastor Donald Boss was voted in, and became the churches second Pastor. His wife’s name was Rosa.

 

On December 31, 2006, Pastor Boss resigned to move back to Sutherland, Oregon, and Pastor Tim Elrod was voted in and became the third Pastor of Lighthouse Baptist Church. His wife’s name is Keren.

 

On July 23, 2008 the Property in Ontario was sold and the Payette property was purchased. In August of 2010 Pastor Elrod resigned to move back to Michigan. 

 

On February 23, 2011 the Church voted to accept Pastor Bruce McComb as their fourth pastor. His wife’s name is Nancy.

 

On February 4, 2017 Pastor McComb passed away.

 

On November 22, 2017 the Church voted to accept Pastor Steve Hensley as their fifth Pastor. In September of 2018 Pastor Hensley and his wife Pasqua moved from Tennessee to take the place as Pastor of Lighthouse Baptist Church.
