Interim Pastor: Mike Rue
The congregation voted to ask Missionary Mike Rue to serve as Interim Pastor while the pulpit committee seeks God’s will for permanent leadership. Bro. Rue โ a church planter with Calvary Baptist Missions who had been working alongside Pastor Hensley โ has been faithfully preaching and shepherding the congregation through this season of transition.

In Memoriam: Pastor Steve Hensley
Pastor Steve Hensley passed away on December 14, 2024, after faithfully serving Lighthouse Baptist Church since 2018. His memorial service was held on December 18, 2024 at the church in Payette, Idaho. A funeral service followed on December 26, 2024 at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Olive Springs, Tennessee, with a graveside service the next day at Western Cemetery in Coalfield, Tennessee. Watch the memorial service.

Fifth Pastor: Steve Hensley
The church voted to accept Pastor Steve Hensley as their fifth pastor. In September of 2018, Pastor Hensley and his wife Pasqua moved from Tennessee to take the pastorate of Lighthouse Baptist Church โ where they faithfully served until his passing in December 2024.

The church voted to accept Pastor Bruce McComb as their fourth pastor. His wife’s name is Nancy.

Returning to Payette
The property in Ontario was sold and the Payette property was purchased โ bringing the church back to its roots. In August of 2010, Pastor Elrod resigned to move back to Michigan.

Third Pastor: Tim Elrod
Pastor Boss resigned to move back to Sutherland, Oregon. Pastor Tim Elrod was voted in as the third pastor of Lighthouse Baptist Church. His wife’s name is Keren.

Second Pastor: Donald Boss
Pastor Keaton resigned and Pastor Donald Boss was voted in as the church’s second pastor. His wife’s name was Rosa.
Early 2003
Ontario, Oregon
A 3-bedroom house on 1.3 acres in Ontario, Oregon was purchased and services began. The first business meeting was held in late February 2003. The church voted to organize, Pastor Keaton was voted in as first pastor, and in April, 19 members signed the charter.
Early 2001
Moving to Fruitland
A small store-front building was rented in Fruitland, Idaho, and services were held there for two years as the congregation continued to grow.
May 1999
A Church Is Planted
Missionary Clinton Keaton and his wife Dorothy planted Lighthouse Baptist Church in their home in Payette, Idaho. He was a missionary out of Bible Baptist Church in Mountain Home, Idaho. Services were held for nearly two years in their living room.
